Application as a movement joint

Requirements Joint flanks must be clean, free of dust, oil and grease, and load-bearing. On absorbent pavings, prime the joint flanks with vdw Primer (observe the flash-off time). Fix the required joint depth, if necessary, with PE backing rod. Mask off adjacent surfaces. The ratio of joint depth to joint width must be taken into account. No moisture, frost or dew on the joint flanks. Stable substrate, joint width ≥ 5 mm, max. 20 mm; joint depth ≥ 5 mm, object temperature ≥ 5 °C, max. 35 °C.

Application Place vdw 884 FugenBand into the bedding mortar and then lay the paving without pressure. Inject vdw 885 plus FugenFlex evenly and under pressure into the open joint. The joints must be filled completely without air inclusions. Then finish and smooth the surface with vdw smoothing agent and suitable smoothing aids.

Application as a paving joint

Requirements In unbound construction, the slabs must be laid stably and securely in position. Joint flanks must be clean, free of dust, oil and grease, and load-bearing. On absorbent pavings, prime the joint flanks with vdw Primer. Fix the required joint depth with PE backing rod. Joint width ≥ 4 mm, max. 10 mm; joint depth ≥ 10 mm, object temperature ≥ 5 °C, max. 35 °C.

Application Protect edge elements and adjacent components from soiling with adhesive tape. Inject vdw 885 plus FugenFlex evenly and under pressure into the open joint. The joints must be filled completely without air inclusions. Then finish and smooth the surface with vdw smoothing agent and suitable smoothing aids.

Aftercare Cordon off the freshly worked joints for a period of at least 24 hours. After this, the surfaces can take foot traffic. Final traffic release of the surfaces after 7 days.
