Art. No. 815202810 / 815203810 / 815204810

vdw 815 plus 2K-PlattenfugenMörtel is the slab joint mortar for narrow joints from 3 mm. Highly flowable, self-compacting and also workable at low temperatures and in rain. Almost no binder film. Ideal, for example, when laying terrace slabs, creating garden paths and driveways.

  • fast, economical and durable jointing
  • clean paved surfaces
  • water-permeable
  • self-compacting
  • flowable
  • resistant to sweeper-vacuum machines
  • abrasion-resistant
  • high freeze/de-icing-salt resistance
  • permanently filled joint
  • also workable in rain and at low temperatures
  • reduced risk of accidents

Application

Requirements Stable, load-bearing, permanently water-permeable substrate. Joint depth ≥ 30 mm (full joint depth on trafficked surfaces), joint width continuously ≥ 3 mm, outdoor and object temperature min. 3 °C to max. 25 °C.

Test area On some natural-stone and concrete slabs, contact between vdw 815 plus and the stone surface may cause visual changes. We generally recommend laying out a test area.

Pre-wetting Wet the surface thoroughly. When pre-wetting and cleaning off, always use clean, cold tap water!

Mixing the joint mortar Pre-mix the mineral aggregate, then add the binder and mix homogeneously with a drill and mixing paddle for approx. 3 minutes. Unmixed constituents must not be processed. No water may be added to the mixture.

Filling the joints Immediately work the mortar intensively into the joints with the hard-rubber squeegee and a light water spray until the joints are completely filled. During application, the surface should be kept constantly wet. It is advisable to carry out the jointing from the highest to the lowest point.

Sweeping/Cleaning Clean off excess mortar immediately with a light water spray until it is completely removed from the surface. Ensure that cleaning is carried out towards areas that have not yet been jointed. Sweep off the last mortar residues with a moist coco broom.

Aftercare Cordon off the freshly jointed surfaces for a period of at least 24 hours, or until the paving surface is no longer tacky. The surfaces are then walkable. Final traffic release of the surfaces at the earliest after 3 to 5 days.
