vdw 780 COLOROUT Holzbrückenbeschichtung — for producing slip-resistant and weather-protected timber structures. Can be used, for example, on timber bridges, walkways, terraces, and swimming-pool and pond surrounds. Available as a floating layer and a top layer.

Application

Requirements Structurally intact timber construction, dry and clean substrate, appropriate weather conditions, temperature from 7 °C (observe the dew-point temperature!). The wood moisture must not exceed 20 wt %. Only water-soluble preparations are to be used for impregnating timber substrates. Coating with vdw 780 must take place 2 to 3 weeks after impregnation.

Tools Drill with mixing paddle, paint roller, shovel and broom.

Preparation Clean the substrate thoroughly and mask off the area to be coated with masking tape.

Material preparation Pour the binder components together and mix with a slow-running stirrer, mixing time at least 3 minutes.

Application Apply the vdw 780 floating-layer binder to the area to be coated, marked off with masking tape, using a paint roller. Remove the masking tape immediately after application. Once the vdw 780 floating layer has set, prepare and apply the vdw 780 top layer in the same way as the vdw 780 floating layer. Broadcast the selected blinding material evenly over the entire fresh vdw 780 top layer.

Sweeping Once the coating has hardened, collect the excess blinding material.

Aftercare The hardening time until traffic release is approx. 8 hours at 20 °C. Protect freshly applied surfaces from rain.
